Salary Rate Upon Promotion. 10.5.1 Upon promotion to a position in a higher job classification an employee will be placed at the lowest step in the higher salary grade that either is the same step held in the former grade or is at a step which is the equivalent to an increase of two (2) steps above the step held in the former grade, whichever is higher.
