Salary Rate Upon Promotion. a. Upon promotion to a position of a higher class, the employee's rate shall be the minimum rate of the range of the position to which promoted, or that rate within the range which is ten percent (10%) above the former rate, whichever is higher, not to exceed the top of the range.
