Scheduling of Call. 24 a. Open call shifts will be placed into the electronic scheduling system. Starting at 25 0700 on the Monday prior PRIOR to the start of the CPT bidding process, full time 26 and part time staff will have the ability to select BID on-call shifts. CPT staff may 27 start their selection BID of call shifts at the start of their regular bidding opening 28 period in Article 8.8. 29 b. Call shifts shall be awarded to the first nurse to select the shift bidder. If there are 30 multiple nurses selecting the same shift, bids within the same time stamp, the 31 senior RN will be awarded the shift. 32 c. Required shifts will be on the posted schedule the Tuesday it is released. If a staff 33 member has not bid on their required call shifts, they will have forty-eight (48) hours 34 after the posting of the schedule to select BID on a shift, then it may be assigned 1 by the scheduler and the nurse notified of their additional requirement by the 2 manager. 3 d. Any nurse may select bid on any remaining shifts after the posting of the schedule. 4 e. It is acceptable to select BID on an extra regular shift in place of a call shift. Any 5 regular shift above the CPT requirements is considered an extra regular shift. 6 f. Nurses with vacations that are approved for two (2) full weeks on one schedule 7 (four (4) shifts for PT nurses and six (6) shifts for FT nurses) will only have to pick 8 up one (1) twelve and one half (12.5) hour call shift in place of the standard two (2) 9 twelve and one half (12.5) hour call shift requirement. 10 g. Management may reserve the right to release a nurse who is orienting from on call 11 requirements during their orientation period.

  • Scheduling i) The designated employer will provide the employee with their schedule of shifts in accordance with the collective agreement for both homes.   • Self Scheduling The Home and the Union may agree to implement a self-scheduling process. Self-scheduling is the mechanism by which employees in a Home create their own work schedules. The purpose of self scheduling is to improve job satisfaction and quality of work life for the participating employees. Self scheduling requires a collaboration of employees and management to ensure proper coverage of the Home and to meet the provisions of the Collective Agreement. It is agreed that self scheduling will be negotiated locally by the Home and the Union and will include a trial period. Each Home must have the majority agreement of the full-time and part-time employees who vote on the issue to agree on a trial period of up to six months. Once the trial period is complete, each Home must have a minimum of 66⅔% agreement of the full-time and part-time employees who vote on the issue to continue with the new schedule on a permanent basis.

  • Work Scheduling Except at the request of an affected employee, no employee shall have the number of hours they are normally scheduled to work reduced as the result of the use of non-permanent employees such as, but not limited to: seasonal, intermittent, student interns, interns, interim, established term, or temporary employees, due to the performance of such employee’s duties by the nonpermanent employee.
