Scheduling Regulations. i(a) The Employer shall ensure Full-time nurses will be scheduled two (2) consecutive days off during each employee half (½) schedule. However, schedules may be agreed upon to provide for more than five (5) consecutive days of work, but not more than seven (7) consecutive days of work without days off as long as four (4) days off are scheduled in each fourteen (14) days. If a full-time nurse is scheduled to work in excess of seven (7) consecutive days, she shall be paid time and one-half (1½) of all days scheduled in excess of seven (7) until a day off is scheduled.
(b) Nurses returning from absences must give as much notice as possible.
(c) Tour of duty schedules covering six (6) week period will be posted two (2) weeks in advance of their taking effect.
(d) Requests for change in posted time schedules must be submitted in writing and co-signed by the nurse willing to exchange days off or tour of duty. In any event, it is understood that such an exchange, initiated by the nurse and approved by the Employer shall not more result in overtime compensation or payment.
(e) At least sixteen (16) hours time off shall be scheduled between shifts or changeover of shifts. Should a nurse be scheduled with less than every third [3rd] weekendsixteen (16) hours between shifts or changeover of shift, except when operational requirements justify it, she/he shall be paid time and one-half (1½) her/his regular rate of pay for all hours worked on the next scheduled shift. If a part-time nurse is called for additional shifts in accordance with her/his availability and with less than 16 hours off between shifts or changeover of shift and she/he agrees then the Employer premium will schedule not apply. If the part-time nurse refuses an additional call-in with less than sixteen (16) hours off this shall not be counted as a shift refused to work.
(f) A nurse shall continue to be scheduled off for at least every other weekend. Work performed on a second and subsequent consecutive weekend off.
ii) An employee will receive shall be paid at premium pay of time and one-half (1½) until such nurse is scheduled off for all hours worked on a third (3rd) subsequent and consecutive weekend save and except wherein the following circumstances:
Ai) such Such weekend had has been worked by the employee nurse to satisfy specific days off requested by the employeesuch nurse; or
Bii) such Such full-time nurse has indicated a request for additional weekend work; or
iii) Such weekend is worked as a result of an exchange of shifts with another employeenurse; or
Civ) such In the event of an emergency situation within the Home. Emergency situation for the purpose of this Clause is defined as unforeseeable events, i.e. flu outbreak, disaster. This shall not include vacation and maternity leave replacement.
(g) A weekend is worked defined as a result scheduled period of time off work consisting of a schedule change requested by minimum of fifty-six (56) consecutive hours starting after the employee; or
D) completion of the employee requests additional weekend workFriday shift. It shall include Saturday and Sunday.
iii(h) An employee will not be required Days 0630 hours to work more than seven (7) consecutive shifts. An employee will be paid time and one-half (1½) for their eighth (8th) subsequent and consecutive shift until a shift is scheduled off work unless as a result of a schedule change requested by 1430 hours Evenings 1430 hours to 2230 hours Nights 2230 hours to 0630 hours NOTE FOR CLARITY: Any reference regarding start/stop times throughout the employee.
iv) A mutual change of a scheduled shift agreement shall be requested modified to reflect the above. Other times may be implemented based on the operational needs of the Home in writing by an employee and co-signed by a suitable exchange employee and submitted for approval to the Employer. The exchange of shifts between employees shall not result in overtime or other additional compensation not otherwise payable.
v) The work schedule will be posted which case two (2) weeks in advance of an eight (8) week periodnotice shall be provided to the nurse(s).
vi(i) It Nurses shall continue to work permanent shifts. A nurse requesting specific tours on a permanent basis shall be granted such requests when possible. Seniority will be the responsibility of the employee to consult posted work schedules. The Employer will provide as much advance notice as is practicable of a change governing factor in the posted schedule. Changes to the posted work schedule shall be brought to the attention of the employee as soon as practicablegranting such requests.
vii(j) Employees Effective April 1, 2019, nurses shall receive a minimum shift premium of twelve two dollars and forty cents (12) hours off between scheduled shifts.

ii) to be prescheduled for work as required up to their committed full- time equivalent (FTE) per pay period;
iii) to be available to work Christmas or New Years, if required;
iv) to be prescheduled if required, to work fifty percent (50%) of the remaining paid holidays.
(d) Part-time Scheduling
i) Regular part-time employees shall be scheduled up to their commitment over a posted schedule.
ii) When all regular part-time employees have reached their commitment, additional shifts will be offered to regular part-time employees who have indicated their availability to work additional shifts on the basis of seniority. Additional available shifts will be offered to casual part-time staff who have indicated their availability to work additional shifts on the basis of senioritystaff.
iii) Cancelled shifts will be in reverse order of seniority.
iv) A shift will be deemed to be offered whenever a call is placed. Only those employees who have indicated their availability need to be called.
v) It is understood that an employee will have thirty (30) minutes to respond to the timed message left with respect to the offer of a shift within the next twenty-four (24) hours.
vi) Failure to make contact with an employee will result in the offer of the extra shift being made to the next senior employee able to perform the duties who has indicated her/his availability.
vii) It is understood that the Employer will not be required to offer shifts which would result in overtime premium pay;
viii) When an employee accepts an additional shift, she/he must report for that shift unless arrangements satisfactory to the Employer are made.
ix) All items in (d) are applicable to all regular part-time and casual unless otherwise noted.

(a) The Employer There shall ensure be no split tours.
(b) Tours of duty schedules shall be posted four weeks in advanced to cover a four (4) week period. At no time will there be less than four (4) weeks of posted time on the bulletin board. By January 15th of each employee is scheduled to work not more than every third [3rd] weekend, except when operational requirements justify it, and then year the Employer will post the dates when the schedules will be posted in each unit for the calendar year. Requests for specific days off are to be submitted in writing on the “Individual Request Form” one (1) week in advance of the posting. After the schedule is posted, requests will submitted forty-eight (48) hours in advanced and will be granted based on the order in which they are received, and employees will be advised if such requests are denied within seven (7) calendar days of submitted request. Such requests must be pre approved by the manager or his/her delegate. Where a conflict occurs, seniority will be the deciding factor.
(c) Employees may request an exchange of scheduled tours of duty provided such requests are submitted in writing on the "Mutual Request Form" to the Manager, or her/his delegate, co-signed by the Employees involved and approved by the Manager/delegate. Such exchange shall be submitted forty-eight (48) hours in advance of the requested time exchange and will not result in premium pay or overtime. Such requests will not be unreasonably withheld.
(d) There shall be a minimum of fifteen (15) hours off between the end of the scheduled tour and the start of the next scheduled tour unless expressly waived by the Employee.
(e) It is understood that a weekend consists of any fifty-six (56) consecutive hours off work during the period following the completion of the Friday day shift until the commencement of the Monday day shift unless otherwise mutually agreed, in writing, between the Hospital and the Employee
(f) The Hospital will endeavour to schedule at least every other one (1) weekend off.
iioff in two (2). The Hospital will schedule two (2) An employee weekends off in four (4). If an Employee is required to work on a third and subsequent consecutive weekend, she/he will receive premium pay of time and one-half (1½) payment as defined in the Central Agreement for all hours worked on a third (3rd) subsequent and consecutive that weekend save and except where:
Ai) such weekend had or part thereof has been worked by the employee Employee to satisfy specific days off requested by the employeesuch Employee; or
Bii) such Employee has requested weekend work; or
iii) such weekend or part thereof is worked worked, as a result of an exchange of shifts with another employeeEmployee which has been approved by the Clinical Manager; or
Civ) such employee has not worked at least a full shift as offered during a weekend period defined in Article I – 1 (e) above. It is worked as a result of a schedule change requested understood that Nurses presently receiving every other weekend off will continue to do so.
(g) Schedules shall not be changed unilaterally by the employee; or
D) the employee requests additional weekend workHospital once posted, unless mutually agreed otherwise, except in emergency situations.
iii(h) Employees will not work more than six (6) consecutive days without days off. An employee Employee will receive premium pay for the seventh (7th) consecutive and subsequent day worked until next scheduled day off, unless mutually agreed between an individual Employee and her/his immediate Supervisor. After a period of regularly scheduled night duty a period of forty-eight (48) consecutive hours off shall be scheduled. In the event the Hospital fails to provide the requisite hours off as provided herein, an Employee will be compensated with premium pay for all hours worked within these hours which should have been scheduled off. An Employee shall not be required to work more than three (3) different tours (i.e., day tour, afternoon tour, and night tour) in any seven (7) consecutive shifts. An employee will be paid time and one-half (1½) for their eighth (8th) subsequent and consecutive shift until a shift is scheduled off work unless as a result of a schedule change requested by day period except in the employee.
iv) A mutual change of a scheduled shift shall be requested in writing by an employee and co-signed by a suitable exchange employee and submitted for approval to the Employer. The exchange of shifts between employees shall not result in overtime or other additional compensation not otherwise payable.
v) The work schedule will be posted two (2) weeks in advance case of an eight (8) week period.
vi) It shall be the responsibility of the employee to consult posted work schedulesextreme emergency situation. The Employer will provide as much advance notice as is practicable of a change in the posted schedule. Changes to the posted work schedule shall be brought to the attention of the employee as soon as practicable.
vii) Employees shall receive a minimum of twelve (12) hours off between scheduled shifts.
viii) There shall be no split shifts.
ix) Requests for specific shifts, days off, vacation or other scheduling requests shall be made in writing at least two (2) weeks prior to the posting of the schedule. Requests with shorter notice may be considered based on operational and staffing requirements. Such requests Any Full-time Employee shall not be unreasonably denied.
x) No employee will be scheduled on the master schedule to work both Christmas and New Year’s holidays unless requested by the employee.
xi) Christmas and New Year’s scheduling will be done on a rotational basis. NOTE: Intent is that no one is scheduled for two Christmas’ or New Years’ in consecutive years.
(b) Extended Shifts (12-hour)
i) The hours of work will be continuous and not exceed ten and one- half (10.5) hours, exclusive of a one and one-half (1-½) hour unpaid break(s).
ii) If an employee must work beyond the hours scheduled in Item (b) i) above, the additional time shall be paid at one and one-half (1½) times the employee’s regular straight time hourly rate in additional to any applicable premiums. Such overtime must be approved in advance except where not possible to do so.
iii) An employee will not be required to work calendar year more than three (3) consecutive twelve (12) hour shifts. An employee will be paid one and one-half (1 ½) times their regular straight hourly rate for their fourth (4th) consecutive twelve (12) hour shift until scheduled off, unless as a result of a schedule change requested by the employee.
iv) A “day” will be defined as a seven (7) hour day with reference to the accrual of vacation, float, statutory lieu days, and sick days in the Collective Agreement. However, the employee will use ten and one-half (10.5) hours of vacation, float, sick, lieu time, or compensating time when booking off a twelve (12) hour shift.
v) In the event that extended shifts are required elsewhere in the organization, they will be discussed with the Union prior to implementation and the shifts will be evenly distributed among the employees of the Team(s) involved. The above Extended Shifts provisions will apply. The Employer shall not be held liable for any violation of the Collective Agreement arising out of the mutual exchange of shifts between employees.
(c) Regular Part-time Commitment
i) to be available to work if required fifty-two (52) weeks per year minus their individual vacation entitlement and approved leave of absence;
ii) to be prescheduled for work as required up to their committed full- time equivalent (FTE) per pay period;

Scheduling Regulations. i(a) Schedules covering a four (4) week period will be posted two (2) weeks in advance. Requests for specific days off shall be submitted in writing to the Director of Care two (2) weeks prior to the posting.
(b) The Employer shall ensure each employee is scheduled will endeavour to schedule employees to work not no more than every third [3rd] weekendseven (7) consecutive tours unless mutually agreed to by the employee and the Home, except when operational requirements justify itthese tours will be followed by 48 consecutive hours off.
(c) Changes by the employees in posted time shall be initialled by both parties involved in the change, and then shall be confirmed by the Employer Director of Care. Any such changes in the posted time initiated by the employees shall not result in overtime compensation.
(d) There shall be no split tours where possible.
(e) The employer will schedule at least one (1) weekend off in three (3), and will make every other reasonable effort to schedule one (1) weekend off.
iioff in two (2). A weekend will be defined as fifty-six (56) consecutive hours. An employee will receive premium pay of time and one-half (1½1 ½) for all hours worked on a the third (3rd) and additional, if any, consecutive and subsequent and consecutive weekend weekend, save and except where:
Ai) such weekend had has been worked by the employee to satisfy specific days off requested by the such employee; or

iii) such weekend is worked as the result of an exchange of shifts with another employee.
(f) Employees presently employed on specific tours with specific days off on a permanent basis, will not be rotated without their consent. The Employer will consider requests from employees hereinafter employed, for permanent evening or night tours and such requests will be granted when possible.
(g) At least two (2) full tours of time shall be scheduled between shifts or changeover of shifts. A shorter period of time shall be scheduled between shifts or changeover of shifts by mutual consent.
(h) Should the Employer be required to change the schedule of shifts or days off with less than sixteen (16) hours' notice, the employee(s) involved in such change(s) will be paid time and one-half (1-1/2) their regular straight hourly rate for their first shift in this new schedule. Effective July 17, 2007 applies to full-time employees only. Should the Employer be required to change the schedule of shifts or days off, the employee(s) involved in such change(s) will be notified of such change(s).
(i) Any employee who arrives up to two (2) hours after the commencement of a tour because of being called with short notice shall be compensated for the full tour.
(j) An employee who is called in or reports for work as scheduled shall receive a minimum of four (4) hours' pay.
(k) The scheduling regulations will not operate during the period of December 15th to January 15th.
(l) A weekend off shall be defined as fifty-six (56) consecutive hours commencing no later than 2300 hours on Friday.
(a) If an employee works a fourth consecutive and subsequent weekend, she/he will receive premium payment of time and one-half (1 ½) for all hours worked on that weekend and subsequent weekends until a weekend is scheduled off, save and except where:
