Secondary General Education Teachers Sample Clauses

Secondary General Education Teachers. All full-time secondary general education teachers will be scheduled for no more than six (6) teaching periods. Additional teaching periods may be assigned with the Professional Employee’s consent. The Superintendent or their designee may, in their discretion, reduce the number of teaching periods assigned to secondary general education teachers or to any grouping of secondary general education teachers. Consistent with recommendations approved by the Board of Education through the ongoing strategic planning process, the District affirms its commitment to phasing in the adjustment of secondary teaching periods beginning with the 2021-22 school year, contingent on the state meeting its funding obligations under the current finance formula, and adequate availability and flexibility of district funds as defined by the Board of Education’s budgeting process. If a secondary general education teacher is assigned to four (4) or more different subject-matter preparations, then that Professional Employee may be assigned to no more than five (5) teaching periods daily without mutual agreement of the Professional Employee and principal.
