Common use of SENIORITY AND TRANSFER Clause in Contracts

SENIORITY AND TRANSFER. 16.1: For the purpose of this Agreement, employees shall have two (2) types of seniority: Classification Seniority and General Seniority. Classification Seniority is defined as the length of service within the Sergeant rank. If the Classification Seniority is based on the same date, the Sergeant with the higher final ranking on the promotional list shall be deemed to have seniority. General Seniority is defined as the length of service measured from the employee’s last date of employment with the City’s Police Department.
