SENIORITY, LAYOFF AND RECALL. 9.01 Seniority shall mean an Employee’s continuous service with the Township since the date of his or her last hiring by the Township. 9.02 Seniority for Part-Time Employees shall accumulate based on hours paid 2,080 hours with one (1) year for all Employees. 9.03 Full time Employees transferring to part-time shall retain their established seniority, but such seniority shall be converted to hours as therein provided. The list will show names, positions and date of hire for each Employee (or hours in the case of part-time Employees). Copies of the seniority list will be posted on all bulletin boards and one copy will be mailed to the Union. The seniority list will be considered correct for all purposes unless the Employee disputes its accuracy within two (2) calendar weeks from the date the list was posted. The Employee must file a written notice to the Township outlining the grounds of objection. No change in the seniority status of an Employee shall be made unless agreed to by the Union. 9.08 In relation to promotion, all Employees will undergo a trial period of sixty (60) consecutive working days provided that it shall not be less than 480 hours worked in the case of part- time Employees. 9.09 A newly hired Employee shall be required to serve a probationary period of six (6) months. A probationary Employee shall not have recourse to the Grievance or Arbitration Procedure if he or she is laid off or is discharged during the probationary period. A final list shall be published by March 31 each year. An employee's failure to question prior to March 1 his/her seniority date and classification on the first published list will show names, positions preclude the assertion of incorrect seniority date and classification in challenging a subsequent layoff. Ifan employee's seniority date or classification is different on the second list as compared to the first list such employee has three (3) days from the posting of hire for each Employee (or hours in the case second list to appeal the change. SENIORITY, LAYOFF AND RECALL. 9.01 A. By September 30 of each year the District shall prepare a seniority list for bargaining unit employees, and for administrators entitled to seniority pursuant to the Transfers Article. For purposes of this agreement article there shall be four (4) classifications: Baker, Cook, Lead Worker, and General Worker. This list will be posted in January and June each building by March 15 of each year. The Employees who wish to appeal their placement on this list must do so in writing to the Personnel Office by April 30 each year. An employee's failure to question prior to April 30, his/her placement on the first posted list, will show namespreclude the assertion of incorrect placement in challenging any subsequent actions having to do with seniority. Once an appeal has been adjudicated, positions no further appeal for the same reason will be honored. A copy of the draft and date of hire for each Employee (or hours in the case of part-time Employees). Copies final version of the seniority list roster will be posted on all bulletin boards and one copy will be mailed provided to the Union.
