Common use of Seniority Tie-Breaking Clause in Contracts

Seniority Tie-Breaking. (i) Where two (2) or more Employees have the same seniority date the Union will conduct a random ordering to produce individual ranking. An updated list shall be shared with the Employer at least every six (6) months. (ii) Where a new Employee hired into the bargaining unit brings the same seniority date as other Employees already in the bargaining unit, they will be placed as the least senior of those Employees sharing the same seniority date.
