Short-Term Military Leave. 9.9.1 Regular employees whose District service and recent military service total one (1) full year may be granted a short-term leave for the period of ordered duty providing it does not exceed 180 calendar days (including time involved in going to and returning from such duties) in one (1) fiscal year. 9.9.2 Employees, when temporarily called to active duty or for the purpose of attending field training exercises, shall be entitled to be paid their regular salary for the first thirty (30) calendar days of absence for the work days they are absent from the District providing the duty occurs during a paid status month of the employee's work year. 9.9.3 To qualify for the benefits provided, the employee must forward a written request for leave, accompanied by a copy of the field order, to the site administrative officer for forwarding to the District Human Resources Office prior to reporting for training or duty. In order to receive the difference in pay, the employee must submit a copy of their military pay stub to the Employee Benefits Department.
