SHORT UNION LEAVE (PAID. The Employer shall grant up to eight (8) paid shifts per contract year for employees to engage in public advocacy for quality long-term care, as agreed between the Employer and the Union. The Employer shall make a good faith effort to maximize the number of employees released on unpaid leave to attend one of the main days designated as public advocacy days by the Union.

The Employer shall make a good faith effort to maximize the number of employees released on unpaid leave to attend one of the main days designated as public advocacy days by the Union, subject to patient care needs.
