– SICK LEAVE AND EXTENDED LEAVE FOR PREGNANCY/ADOPTION. The Board shall provide for unpaid leaves of absence, in accordance with law and the policies of this Board for any employee of this district not otherwise covered by the terms of a negotiated agreement whose absence from duties will be required for a foreseeable event of disability such as childbirth or surgery. Such provisions shall be governed by consideration for the health of employee, the need for continuity in classroom instruction and school operations, and the maintenance of a qualified district staff.
