Common use of Sick Leave Donation Program Clause in Contracts

Sick Leave Donation Program. When an employee has experienced a “catastrophic event” that causes him/her to take leave from work for extended periods of time that exceed his/her accumulated sick leave balance, s/he may be considered for the Sick Leave Donation Program. A “catastrophic event” is defined as a severe illness or incapacitating injury that is expected to incapacitate the employee for an extended period of time (in excess of at least five (5) days) and would require the employee to take extended, undetermined time off from work which creates a financial hardship for the employee in that s/he has exhausted all full salary sick leave and other paid time off.
