Spare Professional Capacity. Where you intend to undertake Private Professional Services or Fee Paying Services other than such work carried out under the terms of this Contract, whether for the NHS, for the independent sector or for another party, the provisions in Schedule 7 and Schedule 10 of the TCS will apply.

While in this employment, you should not ordinarily undertake work outside of this Contract. The parties have agreed changes to the provisions relating to spare professional capacity stating that if a doctor intends to undertake remunerated clinical work as a locum, the doctor is strongly encouraged to initially offer such additional hours of work to the service of the NHS via an NHS staff bank of their choosing.
