Sports Not Currently Offered. The District will determine whether there is a sufficient number of high school female students with sufficient interest and, if applicable, ability to support the addition of a team or multiple teams (varsity, junior varsity, sophomore, etc.), in sports not currently offered by the high school as interscholastic sports, and whether there is sufficient competition within that high school’s normal competitive region and geographic area for those teams/sports. If so, the District will add a team or multiple teams in those sports at the relevant high school(s) by the next competitive season.
Sports Not Currently Offered. The University will determine whether there are a sufficient number of students and admitted students at the University who are members of the underrepresented sex with the interest and ability to support the addition of a team in sports not currently offered by the University as intercollegiate sports and sufficient competition in those sports within the University’s normal competitive region. If so, the University will add a team in those sports and will hire a coaching staff, recruit student athletes and provide sufficient resources to the coaching staff during the 2015-2016 academic year to ensure that each team begins competition no later than the 2016-2017 academic year, consistent with the above determination.
Sports Not Currently Offered. The College will determine whether there is a sufficient number of female students with sufficient interest and ability to support the addition of a team in sports not currently offered by the College as intercollegiate sports, and whether there is sufficient competition within the College’s normal competitive region and geographic area for those teams/sports. If so, the College will add a team in those sports.
Sports Not Currently Offered. The University will determine whether there are a sufficient number of students and admitted students at the University who are members of the underrepresented sex with the interest and ability to support the addition of a team in sports not currently offered by the University as intercollegiate sports and sufficient competition in those sports within the University’s normal competitive region. If so, the University will add a team in those sports and will hire a coaching staff, recruit student athletes and provide sufficient resources to the coaching staff during the 2013-2014 academic year to ensure that each team begins competition no later than the 2014-2015 academic year, consistent with the above determination, unless the actions taken by the University under section II.A. are sufficient to achieve compliance under Part 1 of the three-part test.
Sports Not Currently Offered. If the University determines there are a sufficient number of students and admitted students, as applicable, at the University who are members of the underrepresented sex with the interest and ability to support the addition of a team in a sport not currently offered by the University as intercollegiate sport and sufficient competition in that sport within the athletic conference in which the University competes or the University’s primary geographic competitive region, then the University will add a team in those sports.
Sports Not Currently Offered. The Corporation will determine whether there is a sufficient number of female students at the School with sufficient interest and, as applicable, ability to support the addition of a team or multiple teams (junior varsity, etc.), in sports not currently offered by the School as interscholastic sports, and whether there is sufficient competition within the School’s normal competitive region and geographic area for those teams/sports. If so, the Corporation will add a team or multiple teams in those sports at the School by no later than the 2014-2015 school year.
Sports Not Currently Offered. The university will determine whether there are a sufficient number of students and admitted students at the university who are members of the underrepresented sex with the interest and ability to support the addition of a team in sports not currently offered (during the 2020-2021 academic year) by the university as intercollegiate sports and sufficient competition in those sports within the university’s normal competitive region. To the extent that the university adds any sports, the university will hire a coaching staff, recruit student athletes, and provide sufficient resources to the coaching staff by the 2023-2024 academic year to ensure that the team begins competition no later than the 2024-2025 academic year and the university will provide those team(s), in a manner comparable to other intercollegiate teams, with sufficient funds in its budget to cover expenses including, but not limited to: coaches, recruiting, equipment and supplies, travel, publicity, and support services.
Sports Not Currently Offered. At a variety of high schools representative of the five boroughs with low female athletic participation rates during the 2013-2014 school year, the NYCDOE will determine whether there is a sufficient number of high school female students with sufficient interest, and if applicable, ability to support the addition of a team or multiple teams (varsity, junior varsity, sophomore, etc.), in sports not currently offered by the high school as interscholastic sports. If so, the NYCDOE will continue to add a team or multiple teams in those sports at the relevant high school until the NYCDOE achieves a participation rate for female students that is substantially proportionate to their rate of enrollment.
Sports Not Currently Offered. Consistent with the survey provided for in Section II of this Agreement, the District will determine whether there is a sufficient number of high school female students with sufficient interest and, if applicable, ability to support the addition of a team or multiple teams (varsity, junior varsity, etc.), in sports not currently offered by the School as interscholastic sports, and whether there is sufficient competition within that high school’s normal competitive region and geographic area for those teams/sports.
a. For the 2015-2016 school year, the District will add athletics opportunities at the School until such time as either (1) the School is fully and effectively accommodating the expressed interests and abilities of female students (i.e., there remains no unmet interest and ability); or (2) the participating rate for female students in the high school’s interscholastic athletics program is substantially proportionate to their rate of enrollment at the high school. Competitive and practice facilities, whether provided on campus or through access to community facilities will be provided in a manner consistent with the Title IX regulation. OCR has made clear to the District and the District understands that OCR does not require or encourage the elimination of any District athletic teams and that it seeks action from the District that does not involve the elimination of athletic opportunities, because nothing in Title IX or the three-part test requires an institution to cut teams or reduce opportunities for students who are participating in interscholastic athletics in order to comply with the provisions of Title IX relating to the effective accommodation of the interests and abilities of male and female students.
Sports Not Currently Offered. LSU will determine whether there are a sufficient number of students and admitted students at the University who are members of the underrepresented sex with the interest and ability to support the addition of a team in sports not currently offered by the University as intercollegiate sports and sufficient competition in those sports within the University’s normal competitive region. If LSU determines to demonstrate compliance with Title IX by adding a team in sports for the underrepresented sex, LSU will hire a coaching staff, recruit student athletes, and provide sufficient resources to the coaching staff during the 2013-2014 academic year to ensure that the team begins competition no later than the 2014-2015 academic year.
