Common use of Spousal Birth Leave Clause in Contracts

Spousal Birth Leave. (a) An employee shall be allowed spousal birth leave with pay for ten (10) days following the confinement of the spouse. A further leave of absence of up to four (4) months without pay will be allowed. During this period of absence, when an employee is on an unpaid leave, the following benefits shall apply: continued medical and dental coverage, unbroken coverage for seniority, vacation, vacation bonus, and severance pay. Group life insurance coverage will be provided upon approval by the insurance carrier, with application to be made by the individual concerned.
