Common use of Step 1 Clause in Contracts

Step 1. An employee having a grievance must, accompanied by a xxxxxxx or CLAC Representative, submit the grievance to the Employer in writing. The nature of the grievance, the remedy sought, and the section(s) of the Collective Agreement which are alleged to have been violated shall be set out in the grievance. The Employer will deliver its decision in writing within ten (10) workdays after receipt of the grievance. Failing settlement, the next step of the grievance procedure may be taken.
