Subsistence Allowance. a) The daily subsistence allowance per calendar day worked shall be as follows: Effective January 11, 2015 one hundred and thirty dollars ($130) Effective April 26, 2015 one hundred and thirty-five dollars ($135) Effective April 24, 2016 as determined by annual sector subsistence review b) An Employee shall forfeit subsistence allowance for absenteeism or leaving work without written permission on any working day. When the Employee is absent or leaves work without written permission on the working day immediately preceding or following bad weather days or recognized holidays, he shall forfeit subsistence allowance for such absenteeism or leaving work without written permission and for the bad weather days or recognized holidays. The above forfeiture of subsistence allowance shall be waived when the Employee's absenteeism on any working day is due to a bonafide illness or absence due to compassionate grounds, covering blood relations, satisfactory to the Employer and the Union. Blood relations shall be defined for the purpose of this Agreement to mean FATHER, MOTHER, SISTER, BROTHER, SPOUSE, AND CHILDREN of both the Employee and his Spouse. Forfeiture of subsistence allowance may also be waived in other cases if the reason for absenteeism is acceptable to the Employer. Employees who leave the job prior to the end of a shift with written permission of the Employer will be entitled to a full day subsistence allowance if at least half of the shift is worked. Employees who leave the job prior to the end of a shift with written permission of the Employer will be entitled to one half day’s (½) subsistence allowance if less than one half of the shift is worked. Such written permission shall not be unduly withheld. c) Written permission to leave work shall be in the form of the Leave of Absence Request form attached as Appendix “F” to this Agreement. Upon a specific request by the Union, the Employer shall forward a copy of an Employee’s approved Leave of Absence Request form. It is not intended that such forms be requested by the Union for all Employees.

Subsistence Allowance. a20:01 The following shall apply to all additional employees who are employed for ninety (90) calendar days or less and for all additional employees hired for shutdown/turnaround. (i) An allowance equal to the per day rate set forth in the prevailing Saskatchewan construction collective bargaining agreements, for days worked or reported for, subject to Articles 20:03 and 20:04. (ii) Subject to Article 20:03 and 20:04 when an employee is working the four (4) day compressed work week he shall be entitled to five (5) days subsistence providing the employee has worked the four (4) days of that work week. If the four (4) day work week is shortened to three (3) days as a result of a statutory holiday the employee shall be entitled to four (4) days subsistence providing he/she has worked the three (3) days of that work week. (iii) The daily subsistence allowance per calendar employer retains the option of providing regular employees suitable commercial accommodation at a hotel or motel plus meals at no cost to the employee. Such written permission shall not be unduly withheldcamp. c) Written permission to leave work All camps shall be constructed and maintained in accordance with the form camp standards of the Leave of Absence Request form attached Saskatchewan Provincial Building and Construction Trades Council. It is agreed that where accommodations are not available, the Company will provide suitable alternative room and board ashore, the room provided should not constitute more than two men to a room with separate beds and will have proper and adequate washing facilities and will be of modern standard. It is further agreed that in such event, board will be of first grade quality and full and plentiful. The Company agrees to notify all employees on non-boarding vessels or equipment seven days prior to shifting to another location so as to enable employees to make arrangements and give notice. Should the Company neglect to furnish employees with such a notice then a payment of seven day's room and board allowance must be paid, upon proof, for an employee suffering any financial inconvenience. Should an employee be receiving benefits under above and is not afforded the opportunity to commute to his home due to the being in a remote location, then the Company will provide first class accommodation as set out in above. The Company agrees to pay reasonable transportation costs to an unlicensed employee to and from his home. If a vessel lays up during the navigation season, all employees shall be paid transportation costs by the Company from the vessel to their home on the basis prescribed in paragraph above. All employees recalled to join such vessel shall be paid transportation costs by the Company from their home to the vessel on the basis prescribed in paragraph above. In case of discharge for cause or leaving work without written permission on any working daya vessel for personal reasons, transportation costs shall be borne by the employee. When a vessel or equipment is buoyed, anchored or sited off shore for a period longer than one complete shift, or is being sited during the period of a shift change, the Company undertakes to provide prompt launch service to the shore for employees going off duty. With regard to longer periods of such anchorage, launch service shall be provided at least once per shift. On non-boarding equipment where launch transportation from shore is necessary, the Company undertakes to pick up employees going on duty at a designated landing ashore at a time set by a notice posted in a conspicuous place on the appropriate working day immediately preceding or following bad equipment. Employees on non-boarding equipment coming off shift shall receive launch transportation to shore as soon as possible.
