Substitution of Australia Day. Despite (a) and (b) above, an Employee may elect to substitute the Australia Day public holiday for another day of the Employee’s choice provided that the Employee notifies their manager at least 2 months’ prior to the Australia Day public holiday and that the day of their chosen substitution is no later than 31 March of that year. In approving an Employee’s Substituted Day, customer needs and operational requirements will be a significant consideration but an Employee’s requested Substitute Day will not be unreasonably refused. Employees who choose to substitute and work on Australia Day will be eligible for public holiday loadings for work on the Substituted Day only.
Substitution of Australia Day. 42.1 Employees (including casual employees) may substitute the annual Australia Day public holiday for an alternate day in the same year, subject to genuine operational requirements and agreement with their supervisor.
