Common use of Supervisor Level Clause in Contracts

Supervisor Level. If no settlement is reached in Step 1, the employee, if he/she considers the grievance to be valid, will first discuss with the Union Leadership prior to proceeding and will reduce to writing on the Union grievance form a statement of the grievance providing the following information: 1. The facts upon which the grievance is based (including the date of occurrence). 2. Reference to the specific article(s) and/or section(s) of the Agreement alleged to have been violated. 3. The remedy sought. The written statement shall be submitted to the immediate supervisor with a copy transmitted to the superintendent or his/her designee. The statement shall be submitted to the immediate supervisor within five (5) working days of the conclusion of Step 1. The immediate supervisor shall have five (5) working days from the receipt of the grievance to hear the grievance and shall within five (5) working days after the hearing submit his/her written statement as to the disposition of the grievance.
