Common use of Temporary Assignments and Reassignments Clause in Contracts

Temporary Assignments and Reassignments. In order for the University to perform its mission, it is understood that employees may be required to work at any location, building or floor of the building being used for regular University business (including dormitories, office buildings, etc.) and to perform any and all tasks or group of tasks, provided the employee is sufficiently compensated according to the University’s Compensation and Classification unit for the tasks they are asked to perform and the tasks are of a skill-level that the employee could (or should be able to) perform. Temporary assignment is used when adding or replacing job duties to an employee's existing position or changing where the employee performs his/her duties on a temporary basis. Reassignments are when an employee’s regular assignment is replaced by another regular assignment. In the case of reassignments, if the employee’s new regular assignment is located greater than five (5) miles from the employee’s previous regular assignment, that employee should be granted at least ten (10) days of advance notice of the change in location to the employee’s regular assignment.
