Common use of Temporary Promotion Clause in Contracts

Temporary Promotion. ‌‌ An employee may be temporarily promoted to a position with a higher salary for reasons deemed appropriate by the appointing authority. The employee shall be notified in writing at the beginning of the assignment as to the reason for the temporary promotion, the anticipated duration and the amount of the temporary wage increase, if any. If an employee is temporarily appointed to another position, the employee's permanent position must be available for the employee's return should the employee not be made permanent in the position to which he/she was temporarily appointed.
