The Guidance Network. The Guidance Network Team, made up of the Deans, Deans Co-ordinators and three Guidance Counsellors, have overall responsibility for the welfare of students. The students themselves are actively involved in supporting each other. There are strong bonds of loyalty within the school and all students know the standards of behaviour that are expected of them. Xxxxxxxx Boys’ High School is a benchmark school for its student welfare and support achievements. Careers and Gateway have responsibility for transition to tertiary and the workplace. Academic Deans (Yr 12 & 13, Yr 9 & 10 and Year 11) have responsibility for students not meeting their potential and ensuring students can meet NCEA Ministry targets. Tutor Group teachers are the first line of support for boys. They, with the support of the Deans and Guidance Counsellors, provide appropriate help to boys who need it. Every new student is assigned to a Tutor Group which has students from every Year group from Year 9 to Year 13. This helps to provide younger boys with a peer group that remains together throughout school. As they continue through school, they grow in seniority and soon they become the mentors and friends of the new younger boys who have joined that Tutor Group. Four days each week begin with a Tutor Group meeting.

A TGL must be in writing, and may be delivered by regular mail, electronic mail, or facsimile transmission. Any TGL issued by the System Agency will be incorporated into the Contract by reference for all purposes when it is issued.
