The Sick Leave Ledger Sample Clauses

The Sick Leave Ledger to be kept by the Superintendent of Employee and Community Relations, and referred to in Article 23, may be examined by an employee, as it concerns the employee=s own account, once a year during the month of September. A statement shall be sent out during the month of October of each year by the Superintendent of Employee and Community Relations to all employees showing absences during the previous year, and the balance, if any, to the credit of the employee, in the Cumulative Sick Leave Bank.

  • Paid Sick Leave Employees shall earn and be granted paid sick leave according to the following provisions:

  • Reinstatement of Vacation Days - Sick Leave In the event an employee is sick or injured prior to the commencement of his/her vacation, such employee shall be granted sick leave and the vacation period so displaced shall be added to the vacation period if requested by the employee and by mutual agreement, or shall be reinstated for use at a later date.

  • Sick Leave Pool a. The Sick Leave Pool is intended to provide security to supplement other insurance benefits by allowing employees to "buy" insurance for extended illness, or other disability. Pool Days may be used to "make an employee whole" if disability or Workers' Compensation benefits are less than normal base pay. When "buying" Pool Days, employees convert Earned Time days on a 1:3 basis. Similar to purchasing insurance, the employee may pick a given number of days to exchange for coverage in case of extended disability.

  • Sick Leave Payout No cash payment for unused sick leave will be paid to any employee leaving the service of the Employer.

  • Sick Leave Accrual Full-time employees will accrue eight (8) hours of sick leave in a calendar month. Part- time employees will accrue sick leave credit on the same proportional basis that their employment schedule bears to a full-time schedule, up to a maximum of eight (8) hours in a calendar month.

  • Sick Leave While on Vacation An employee who while on vacation is incapacitated for one (1) or more days due to personal illness or injury may charge such days to accrued sick leave. In such event, the employee promptly shall notify his department, and upon return to duty shall substantiate the need for, and use of, sick leave.
