Title VI of the Civil Rights Act and Non-Discrimination. Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 requires that “no person in the United States shall, on the grounds of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal funding assistance.” 42 USC Section 2000d. http: xxx.xxx.xxx/xxxxx/xxxx/xxxxxxxx/xxxxxxx.xxx. The City of Stockton is committed to complying with the requirements of Title VI in all of its federally funded programs and activities. In performing services under this Agreement, Operator shall not discriminate in the employment or application of employment of employees or in the engagement of any contractors or subcontractors on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, marital status, national origin, ancestry, age or any other criteria prohibited by law. Operator agrees to comply fully with all applicable federal, state, local laws, ordinances, executive orders and regulations which prohibit discrimination. The City of Stockton has a Discrimination and Harassment Policy which is attached and as Exhibit 3: HR15, Discrimination and Harassment Policy. The purpose of the policy is to reaffirm the City’s commitment to demonstrating respect for all individuals by strictly prohibiting discrimination and harassment, including sexual harassment in the workplace, to define the types of behavior and conduct prohibited by this policy, and to set forth a procedure for reporting, investigating, and resolving complaints of discrimination and harassment in the workplace.

This provision binds the Contractor and subcontractors from the bid solicitation period through the completion of the contract. This provision is in addition to that required by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
