TRIBAL TRANSIT PROGRAM. The Indian Tribe agrees to comply, and assures the compliance of each subrecipient, lessee, third party contractor, or other participant at any tier of the Tribal Transit Project, with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, 42 U.S.C. §§ 2000d et seq.

TRIBAL TRANSIT PROGRAM. Each Applicant for Tribal Transit Program assistance must provide all certifications and assurances set forth below. Except to the extent that FTA determines otherwise in writing, FTA may not award any Federal assistance under the Tribal Transit Program until the Applicant provides these certifications and assurances by selecting Category “22.” In accordance with 49 U.S.C. 5311(c)(1) that authorizes the Secretary of Transportation to establish terms and conditions for direct grants to Indian Tribal governments, the Applicant certifies and assures as follows:
