Understudy. An “Understudy” is an Artist who is contracted for the rehearsal and performance period of a production to learn, rehearse and, if required by the Engager, perform a role(s) of another Artist(s) contracted to perform the role(s).
Understudy. An “Understudy” is an Artist designated to learn a role but not necessarily to perform it.
Understudy. A person whose services are retained so that he may be available to stand in for another performer on a moment’s notice. An understudy who appears in the image and who cannot be identified is considered an extra. (See 9-1.15).
