Common use of UNION MEMBERSHIP AND DUES Clause in Contracts

UNION MEMBERSHIP AND DUES. (a) The Employer will deduct Union dues from the pay of each Employee in the Bargaining Unit, in the amount specified in writing by the Union, and shall remit same to the Union as soon as practicable and not later than 10 Working Days following the pay period end date. (b) When the amounts specified under Article 5.07(a) are remitted, the Employer will inform the Union in writing of the names of Employees from whose pay deductions for Union dues have been made and the amount of dues deducted from each Employee’s pay. (c) The Union shall advise the University in writing at least 30 days in advance of any change in the amount of its Union dues. It is agreed that the rate structure of the dues requested shall not require deductions which are incompatible with the University’s payroll system.
