UNION SECURITY AND CHECK-OFF OF UNION DUES. 5.01 All present and future employees of the Employer, as a condition of continuing employment, shall pay an amount equal to the current monthly Union dues. 5.02 The Employer shall deduct from every employee, an amount equal to the current monthly dues, initiations, or assessments levied, in accordance with the Union constitution and/or by-laws, and owing by the employee to the Union. 5.03 Deductions shall be made from the payroll period at the end of each month and shall be forwarded to the National Secretary-Treasurer of the Canadian Union of Public Employees no later than the fifteenth (15th) day of the month following the one in which they were deducted, accompanied by a list of names, addresses and (listed) home phone numbers of all employees from whose wages the deductions have been made. 5.04 The Employer will notify the Union within one week of the starting date of each new employee. The notice will include the new employee's name, address, classification and supervisor's name. 5.05 The Employer agrees to acquaint each new employee with the fact that a Union agreement is in effect, and with the conditions of employment as set out in Articles 5.01, 5.02 and 5.03. 5.06 A list of all new employees shall be forwarded monthly to the Union and shall contain the employee’s name, address, telephone number, classification and supervisor’s name.
