UNION SECURITY AND CHECK. OFF 4.01 Present probationary employees and newly hired employees, upon completion of the probationary period shall become and remain members of the Union, as a condition of employment. Membership for the purpose of this agreement shall be confined to the payment of the initiation fee and regular monthly dues which are equally applied to all employees. Probationary employees as a condition of employment will pay monthly dues in conformity with the Constitution of the Union. (a) The Company will deduct from the pay of each employee, the initiation fee and the monthly dues authorized by the constitution of the Union, except that, initiation fee and monthly dues will not be deducted together from any one pay period. (b) With the mutual consent of both parties the Company will deduct the monthly Union dues on a weekly installment basis rather than once per month. In the event an employee misses a pay(s) the missed dues deduction(s) will be deducted from their next pay cheque providing the employee has worked a minimum of 40 hours in the month. Under the weekly deduction system the union initiation fee may be deducted from the same pay cheque as a weekly dues deduction. 4.03 All sums deducted as above, together with a record of those from whose pay deductions have been made and the amounts of such deductions, together with a list of employees whose employment is terminated, transferred out of the bargaining unit, or any employee where no deduction has been made, shall be remitted by the Company to the Local Union by the 15th of the month following the end of the month in which the deductions were made. The Company will include Total Union Dues on the T-4 slips as authorized by the Union. 4.04 The Union shall hold the Company fully indemnified in respect of all such deductions made in accordance with the agreement.

OFFOFF OF UNION DUES 4.01 Present probationary 3.01 All employees and newly hired employeesshall, upon completion of when working in a position within the probationary period shall become and remain members of the Unionbargaining unit described in Article 2 hereof, as a condition of employment. (a) 3.02 It is further agreed that when employees are hired or recalled, they will be required to apply for a clearance slip from Labourers' Union Local 183 or Teamsters' Union Local 230 as the case may be, before starting work, except in emergency circumstances where the Employer requires the employee to start work immediately in which event the employee must apply for clearance at the Union Hall not later than the Saturday following commencement of employment. The Company will deduct from Employer shall supply a letter to the pay employee confirming he has been hired. 3.03 Each employee shall, when working in a position within the bargaining unit described in Article 2.01 above, be required as a condition of each employee, the initiation fee employment to have his regular monthly union dues and any required working dues checked off and the monthly dues authorized by Union agrees to duly inform the constitution Employer of the Union, except that, initiation fee and monthly dues will not be deducted together from any one pay period. The Employer shall, or any employee where no deduction has when remitting such dues, name the employees and their social insurance numbers from whose pay such deductions have been made. It is further agreed and understood that the Employers will receive at least 30 days notice of any changes in the amounts of working dues. In the case of Teamsters Local 230, when Employers issue T4 slips, they shall be remitted by include the Company total amount of union dues. 3.04 (TEAMSTERS LOCAL 230 ONLY) The Employer further agrees on receipt of proper authorization to the deduct Teamsters Local Union by 230 initiation fees or re-initiation fees in two weekly installments and to remit the said deductions to Teamsters Local Union 230 when union dues are remitted on or before the 15th of the month following the end of the month in which the deductions were made. The Company will include Total Union Dues on the T-4 slips as authorized by the Unioneach month. 4.04 The Union shall hold the Company fully indemnified in respect of all such deductions made in accordance with the agreement.

This list will contain employees’ names, payroll numbers, (addresses and telephone numbers, if authorized by the employee on a separate form supplied by the Company and a copy of such form will be given to the Union Committee), along with a record the amount of those from whose pay such deductions have been made and the amounts of such deductionsreason, together with a if any, why no deductions were made from certain employees. This list of employees will also indicate any employee whose employment is terminated, transferred out of the bargaining unit, on layoff, leave of absence, or died. The Company will also provide the financial secretary with the monthly alphabetical employee list. The Company will reimburse any employee where no deduction any dues that have been deducted in error, as long as a claim has been made, shall be remitted by submitted to the Company to before the Local Union by the 15th last day of the month following the end of the calendar month in which the deductions were deduction was made.
