Union Stewards and Representatives. Section 14.01 Union Representatives have access to supermarket during business hours to ascertain that the terms of the Agreement are observed. These Representatives shall first make their presence known to the Employer or, in his absence, to the person in charge.
4.02 Any employee appointed or elected to a permanent function in the Union and who applies, in writing, fifteen (15) days in advance, shall obtain a leave of absence without pay for a maximum period of twelve (12) months. The employee must give the Employer a notice of fifteen (15) days before the date of his return to work. Upon his return to work, the employee is reinstated in his function as if he had never left his job.
4.03 An employee appointed by the Union may obtain a leave of absence without loss of rights acquired through the Collective Agreement for the purpose of attending Union activities of short duration (courses, conventions, etc.) providing the following conditions are complied with:
Section 2: a) The Union shall select a reasonable submits its request at least ten (10) days prior to the commencement of the desired leave of absence.
b) This leave of absence is not granted during the period from December 15th to January 10th.

4.04 One (1) Union Xxxxxxx and one (1) Assistant Union Xxxxxxx may be elected or appointed, according to the Union's choice, among the employees of the supermarket to represent the interests of all employees. The Xxxxxxx shall always have precedence over the Assistant Xxxxxxx, although the latter may exercise the same functions.
4.05 Union Stewards and Assistant Stewards have their regular work to perform for the Employer; however, the Union Xxxxxxx may investigate, and/or submit grievances and/or meet the Employer/or his replacement, and/or employees, in order to discuss labour relations problems.
4.06 The Union Xxxxxxx may fulfil his functions as Xxxxxxx during working hours and without loss of salary. The Union Xxxxxxx or the Assistant Xxxxxxx, as the case may be, must advise his Department Manager and his Employer or his replacement, before leaving his work.
4.06 The Union must supply the Employer with a list of the names of the Stewards and Assistant Stewards and shall keep this list up to who has date. 6.07 It is agreed that the Xxxxxxx shall continue to perform their regular work in order to maintain efficiency of operations. However, in accordance with the understanding, should it be necessary to assist an employee in presenting a grievance during working hours, they will not leave their work without loss first obtaining permission from their Manager or their designate, which will not be unreasonably withheld. Should the Xxxxxxx find it necessary to assist employees in presenting a grievance during a shift when there is no supervision, the Union agrees that the Xxxxxxx will not abuse their privilege under this paragraph, by absenting themselves from work in an unreasonable manner and for more time than is reasonably required to handle the grievance.
6.08 Union Representatives shall have access to the site and work areas covered by this agreement in the carrying out of timetheir regular duties and will not unduly disrupt the work force and will advise Management in advance. It is recognized that the Union Representative shall have the right, pay or employment benefitsat reasonable times, to investigateinterview employees in respect to Union affairs or in respect to the investigation or processing of any grievance. 6.09 The Employer and the Union agree that no person shall intimidate, prepare and present grievances and disciplinary appeals coerce, impose any pecuniary penalty on, or otherwise discriminate against any person because that person exercises or seeks to exercise any right under the Collective Agreement, or complains, gives evidence, or otherwise assists in respect of court interpreter bargaining unit the initiation of prosecution of a grievance or other proceeding under this Collective Agreement.
