Common use of Use of Approved Leave on the Holiday Clause in Contracts

Use of Approved Leave on the Holiday. If an employee is scheduled to work on a holiday and is unable to work due to illness, the employee shall be compensated for the holiday at the employee's normal rate of pay times the normal scheduled hours and not be charged with or compensated for sick leave hours. An employee who uses vacation leave or compensatory time on a holiday shall be paid for vacation leave or compensatory time in addition to holiday pay. An employee who is injured in the line of duty will be compensated for the holiday at the employees normal rate of pay times the normally scheduled hours and not be charged with or compensated for injury leave hours.
