Work on a Paid Holiday. A) Regular Employee a) A regular employee required to work New Years Day, Easter Monday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, B.C. Day, Thanksgiving Day, Remembrance Day, Boxing Day, BC Family Day, Christmas Day, Labour Day, or Good Friday shall be paid at the rate of one and a half (1.5) times for all hours worked in the day, provided that Articles 27.05, 29.04, and 39.04 are not applicable, and shall receive another day off with pay as a paid holiday. The rate of one and a half (1.5) times shall be paid for a shift when one-half (1⁄2) or more than one-half (1⁄2) of the hours worked fall within 0001 hours and 2400 hours on the named day. In such cases the rate of one and a half (1.5) times shall be paid for the total hours worked.

Work on a Paid Holiday. A) Regular Employee i) A regular employee required to work on one of the paid holidays listed in Article 39.01 shall be paid at the rate of two (2) times for all hours of work in the day, provided that Articles 27.05, 29.04 and 39.04 are not applicable and, in addition, each regular employee shall receive seven point two (7.2) paid hours off as a statutory holiday. The rate of two (2) times will be paid for all hours of work within 0001 and 2400 hours on the named day.
Work on a Paid Holiday. In addition to pay for the holiday, an Employee shall be paid time and one-half (1 1/2) for all hours worked on a Paid Holiday.
Work on a Paid Holiday. (a) When a full-time or temporary full-time nurse works on a paid holiday, or on a designated day, in addition to holiday pay (7.5 hours) as stated under Article 21.01 (a) above, she shall receive a premium of one-half (½) times her basic hourly rate for all hours worked on that day, over the averaging period. In addition, the nurse shall receive time off equivalent to hours worked at her straight time pay, which shall be scheduled at a mutually convenient date between the nurse and her immediate supervisor. However, if such mutually convenient date cannot be arranged to be scheduled within sixty (60) days from when the holiday was worked, the nurse shall be paid at straight time (in lieu of the time off) for all hours worked. It is agreed that should a nurse work on the actual paid holiday and the designated day she will only be paid the .5 premium for the actual paid holiday. Work performed on the designated day will be paid at her straight time hourly rate. (b) Any regular part-time, temporary part-time or casual part-time nurse, who is required to work on a named holiday shall be paid one and one-half (1 1/2) times her straight time hourly rate for all hours worked on such named holiday, and the nurse shall not receive a day off in lieu of the holiday worked.
Work on a Paid Holiday i) - “General Provisions - Paid Holidays on a Scheduled Day Off” does not apply in the following circumstances: - Regularly Scheduled Work An employee who is regularly scheduled to work on a paid holiday identified in this Article shall be paid double (2X) time in addition to regular wages for that day.

(B) Casual Employee A casual employee who works on a paid holiday listed in Article 39.03 (A)(1) shall be paid two (2) times her rate of pay for all hours of work within 0001 and 2400 hours on the named day. A casual employee who works on a paid holiday listed in Article 39.03(A)(2), shall be paid two and one-half (2.5) times her rate of pay for all hours of work within 0001 and 2400 hours on the named day. 39.04 Premium Rates of Pay

The rate of two (2) times shall be paid for the full shift when one-half (1⁄2) or more than one-half (1⁄2) of the hours worked fall within 0001 and 2400 hours on the named day. In such cases, the rate of two (2) times shall be paid for the total hours worked. c) Employees who are required to work on Christmas Day, shall be paid at the rate of two and one-half (2.5) times for the first seven point two (7.2) hours worked and shall receive another day off with pay as a paid holiday. The rate of two and one-half (2.5) times shall be paid for the full shift when one-half (1⁄2) or more than one-half (1⁄2) of the hours worked fall within 0001 and 2400 hours on the named day.
