Common use of Use of Sick Leave Days Clause in Contracts

Use of Sick Leave Days. (a) An employee may use accrued sick leave days for absences due to illness, injury or pregnancy in any month of the year that he/she is scheduled on the payroll. (b) Sick leave can be used in units of one-half (1/2) hour or more. (c) Accrued sick leave may be used as “sick-family” to attend to members of the employee’s immediate family who are ill or injured. For the purposes of this provision, the definition of “immediate family” will be the same as that used in the FML guidelines found at xxxx://xxx.xxxxx.xxx/hr.
