Use of Vacation In Lieu of Sick Leave. After the first six months of full-time service or equivalent, full-time regular and part-time regular employees shall be permitted to use vacation as an essential extension of used sick leave.

Use of Vacation In Lieu of Sick Leave. During the first six months of full time 16 service a regular employee may, at KCSO’s discretion, be advanced six days (48 hours) of unearned 17 vacation. In the event the employee voluntarily leaves County employment before the end of their 18 first six months of service, the County may reduce the employee’s final paycheck for any previously 19 advanced vacation, subject to any limitations under Washington State law. Any other eligible 20 employee with accrued leave benefits may, with KCSO approval, use accrued vacation, holiday, and 21 other accrued paid leave as an essential extension of used sick leave prior to going on an unpaid leave 22 of absence.

Donating unit members shall retain a thirty (30) day balance of sick leave after their donation and may donate no more than twenty-five (25) days of sick leave per year. The donation form is Appendix I. Part-time faculty may receive sick leave donations from any employee, and may donate accumulated sick leave to other part-time faculty following the same requirements as outlined above. Part-time faculty may not donate sick leave to full- time employees.

  • Accrued 100% sick leave The use of sick leave under this subsection is at the employee's discretion.
