Common use of Vacancy Announcements Clause in Contracts

Vacancy Announcements. (a) Announcement of employment opportunities must receive appropriate distribution to enable and encourage qualified candidates to apply. Announcements should be open for at least 2 weeks. In unusual circumstances, the Chief Administrative Officer or designee may shorten the 2-week announcement period. Announcements must contain specific information about examinations, minimum qualifications, duties and other relevant job factors. Length of County service (seniority) shall be considered when qualified candidates are otherwise deemed reasonably equal. (b) The Chief Administrative Officer or designee may establish a reasonable deadline for receipt of application for announced vacancies and provide for open continuous examinations for entry level positions. Applications may be accepted at any time for future consideration when vacancies occur, but must not be considered for a vacancy if submitted after an announced deadline.
