Vacation Period Selection. 9.2.3.1 An Employee has the right to select a vacation period, and may take it in a continuous period or in segments at the option of the Employee subject to a schedule established by the Department, with notification to the Xxxx. The annual vacation period shall be calculated exclusive of Winter, Spring and Term break periods. The annual vacation schedule shall be subject to the essential requirements of the Department as determined by the Department. Any disputes over requirements shall be referred to the Labour/Management Committee. 9.2.3.2 If an Employee is required by the Employer to be in attendance or available during the Employee's chosen vacation time this assignment shall be deemed to be overtime, and compensated in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Agreement relating to the overtime compensation.
