Variation of period of parental leave. a) An employee who has commenced maternity leave may change the period of leave on one occasion only by providing 14 days notice in writing prior to the end of the period. Any further extension may only granted as mutually agreed between the employer and employee. b) Alternatively the period of maternity leave may be shortened as mutually agreed between the employer and the employee with a minimum of four weeks notice prior of the proposed day of commencement.
