In order to verify that the employee’s use of Sick Leave is in accordance with this Section, to assure medical attention for an employee or to prevent the abuse of Sick Leave usage, the University may require an employee to submit verification of the reason for the use of accrued Sick Leave, advanced or extended Sick Leave. b. Verification of Illness for Absences of Five (5) or More Consecutive Days The University may require an employee to provide an original certificate of illness or disability in cases where an absence is for five (5) or more consecutive workdays. The certificate required by this Section shall be signed by a certified medical provider as defined in Section B.4.f.
