WAGE RATES AND JOB CLASSIFICATIONS. 1. Job classifications and the hourly wage rates for all employees covered by this Agreement shall be set out in the wage appendix of this Agreement. 2. Employees shall be paid by direct deposit every second Friday. Employees shall receive an itemized statement of wages covering the two (2) weeks ending the previous Saturday. 3. Rates of pay for any new classifications or positions that may be established by the Co- operative within the scope of this Agreement shall be subject to negotiations, provided that the Co-operative shall have the right to establish a rate to be paid until the rate of pay for the new classification or position is agreed upon. If the parties cannot reach agreement, then at the request of either party, the matter shall be submitted to the arbitration procedure contained in this Agreement. 4. The Co-operative agrees to the principle of equal pay for equal work regardless of age or gender. (a) An employee required to temporarily fill a position in the scope of this Agreement paying a higher rate of pay for two (2) days or more shall receive a premium of ten dollars ($10.00) per day providing the premium is not less than the minimum or more than the maximum of the range of the temporary position. If required temporarily to fill a position paying a lower rate of pay, he/she shall not have his/her rate reduced. (b) An employee who is required to temporarily fill the classification of a Department Manager or Supervisor for more than three (3) days shall receive a premium of eighteen dollars ($18.00) per day providing the premium is not less than the minimum or more than the maximum of the range of the position being temporarily filled. (c) Payments for (a) and (b) above shall be retroactive to the first day. 6. Notwithstanding anything in this Agreement to the contrary, any employee now receiving a higher rate of pay than is called for in the terms of this Agreement shall not have such rate reduced during the term of this Agreement. 7. Any employee employed by the Co-operative shall be given credit for his/her previous experience for purposes of determining his/her wage rate, providing the employee has comparable experience and has been employed in a comparable operation covered by a Union contract in the two (2) years immediately prior to commencement of his/her employment.

Relieving Store Manager – one dollar and fifty cents ($1.50) per hour above the employee’s regular rate; Relieving First Assistant Store Manager – one dollar and twenty-five cents ($1.25) per hour above the employee’s regular rate; Relieving Food Service Manager, Bakery Manager, Produce Manager, Coffee Bar Operator and Second Assistant Manager – seventy-five (75¢) cents per hour above the employee’s regular rate; Subject to the above, the said rates will be effective from the first day he is so employed. 9.06 Any employee appointed by the Company to act as a Produce Department Second, Meat Order Writer or Deli Order Writer will be entitled to a premium of eighteen dollars fifty ($18.0050¢) cents per day providing the premium is not less than the minimum hour for all hours worked or more than the maximum of the range of the position being temporarily filledpaid. (c) Payments for (a) and (b) above shall be retroactive to the first day. 6. (c) Payments for (a) and (b) above shall be retroactive to the first day. 6. 9.06 Notwithstanding anything in this Agreement to the contrary, any employee now receiving a higher rate of pay than is called for in the terms of this Agreement shall not have such rate reduced during the term of this Agreement. 7. 9.07 Any employee employed by the Co-operative Employer shall be given a maximum credit of 1500 hours from the top rate (1000 hours from the top rate for his/her bakers) for previous experience for purposes the purpose of determining his/her his wage rate, providing the employee has comparable experience and has been employed in a comparable operation retail food store covered by a Union contract in the two three (23) years immediately prior to commencement of his/her his employment. Should an employee or the Union fail to file a complaint or grievance within thirty (30) days of the date the Employer sends a Form “B” card to the Union, the Employer shall be liable to make any resulting wage adjustment which may be required only from the date the complaint or grievance was brought to its attention. The Employer may require the employee to provide proof of such experience and shall, in such an event, permit him a period of forty-five (45) days to do so. Upon satisfactory proof being presented, the employee’s wage rate shall be adjusted retroactive to the date of his employment. The employee will forfeit any right for this benefit after forty-five (45) days. 9.08 The classification of “Service Clerk” shall be composed of: Food Service Clerk, Bakery Clerk, Floral Clerk, Produce Clerk, Grocery Clerk and Meat Clerk.

Any employee employed by the Co-operative shall be given credit for his/her previous experience for purposes of determining his/her wage rate, providing the employee has comparable experience and has been 10.08 Employees employed in a comparable operation covered by a Union contract the Maintenance Department required to use their own vehicle in the two (2) years immediately performance of their duties shall receive mileage in the amount equal to the current Federal Government rate per kilometer. The employee shall receive prior approval from Management and shall provide a daily record to commencement of his/her employmentManagement.
