Common use of WITNESS DUTY LEAVE Clause in Contracts

WITNESS DUTY LEAVE. Employees required to serve as a witness for longer than five (5) days may request an unpaid leave of absence, up to a maximum period of 30 days. A copy of the subpoena must be provided to the department manager at the time the employee requests the time off for witness duty. Employees will be allowed to utilize their vacation/PTO benefits for partial or full day of absences to witness duty, unless state or federal law require otherwise.
