Common use of WITNESS DUTY LEAVE Clause in Contracts

WITNESS DUTY LEAVE. 20:01 A Full Time Fire Fighter who is called upon to attend as a witness by subpoena or summons or by providing proof, satisfactory to the Employer of being required to attend as a witness in any proceeding held in or under the authority of any court in Canada, or before any legislative committee authorized by law to compel the attendance of witnesses before it, shall be allowed leave of absence with full pay, provided that the full amount of compensation received, excluding mileage and traveling expense and an official receipt thereof is deposited with the General Manager of Financial Services and City Treasurer.
