Common use of Work Week and Work Day Clause in Contracts

Work Week and Work Day. (a) The normal or standard work week shall be an average of thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours, with a normal or standard work day of seven and one-half (7½) hours except in those Hospitals where agreements already provide a standard or normal work week of less than thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours per week and seven and one-half (7½) hours per day.

Work Week and Work Day. (a) The normal or standard work week shall be consist of forty (40) hours within a seven (7) day period or eighty (80) hours within a fourteen (14) day period. The normal work day shall consist of eight (8) hours, plus an average unpaid meal period of thirty-seven and one-half (37½½) hourshour, with unless an innovative work schedule has been established under Section 7.1.1, Innovative Work Schedule, creating a normal or standard work day of seven and one-half (7½) hours except in those Hospitals where agreements already provide a standard or different normal work week day. For purposes of less than thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours per week and seven and one-half (7½) hours per innovative work schedules, the term “normal work day” means the regularly scheduled shift agreed upon by the nurse.

The normal or standard work week and work day for all employees shall mean the normal working time for an employee to perform the regularly assigned duties as established by the appropriate authority of the Employer in order to meet the varying needs and requirements of the different departments, sections, units and divisions. The normal workday shall be an average of thirty-seven eight (8) hours per day, and one-half the normal workweek shall be forty (37½) hours, with a normal or standard work day of seven and one-half (7½) hours except in those Hospitals where agreements already provide a standard or normal work week of less than thirty-seven and one-half (37½40) hours per week and seven and one-half (7½) hours per dayweek.

The exception is the work week for ultrasound with an average of less than thirty-thirty seven (37) hours, (four days per week) with a normal or standard work day of nine and one-half (37½9 ½) hours per week for two (2) days and seven nine and one-half quarter (7½9 ¼) hours per dayfor two days, totaling four days for a given week.
