Working Hours. The parties hereto are committed to the principle of a five (5) day work week of forty (40) hours with an unpaid lunch period at or near the mid-point of half shift as a general rule for full- time employees. This is not, however, a guarantee of hours for any day or week. Work schedules may be changed by the District as it deems appropriate to meet the needs of the District. (c) All full-time employees shall be allowed a one-half (1/2) hour unpaid lunch period during each shift which shall be added to employees’ schedules and taken somewhere near the middle of their shifts. (d) All part-time employees scheduled to work six (6) hours or less in a work day will be accorded one (1) paid break of fifteen (15) minutes during the shift at the site where working. In addition, part-time employees scheduled to work more than six (6) hours but less than eight (8) hours will be accorded one (1) additional paid break of fifteen (15) minutes during the shift at the site where working. This break will be scheduled by the District to meet operational needs. (e) The District will pay employees assigned to and required to drive their own car during their normal shift a mileage reimbursement at the IRS rate. This does not cover employees traveling to and from work assignments outside of their normal workday or to and from extra assignments at different buildings offered to part- time employees. (f) When an elementary building has custodial services supplied to it with a combination of a third shift custodian and the assignment of a school helper (i.e., K-3 buildings), said building will have the following option: If the building principal and/or the building’s site-based team requests the night custodian to modify his/her hours, such modification can be made provided the building leadership and the custodian have mutually agreed to the change. (g) When the District declares a snow day and cancels all school-related activities, all custodial employees can work the day shift. In addition, custodial employees can work on the day shift on the two (2) days per year when schools are closed and when teaching staff is given “comp time.” These days designated as comp time for conferences shall be designated by the School District and communicated to bargaining unit employees.

No employee shall be required to take time off during an employee's regular scheduled hours for the purpose of avoiding overtime payment. The supervisor and the employee may agree to a split shift if the scheduling is mutually agreeable. (a) Employees who work seven (7) hour shifts called in to work outside of their regularly scheduled hours shall be entitled to time and one-half (1/21 ½) hour unpaid lunch for all hours worked with a minimum of four and one half (4½) hours pay at straight time rates. This provision shall apply only where an employee has completed the regular shift that day and it is further understood that where such period during each shift which overlaps and extends into the employee's next regularly scheduled shift, the employee shall be added paid only time and one-half (1 ½) to employees’ schedules and taken somewhere near the middle commencement of their such shift. (db) All partAs an integral part of some employees’ job responsibilities there is requirement to serve stand-time employees scheduled to work six (6by assignments. During such assignments the employee(s) hours must carry the required “paging unit” or less other approved communications equipment and must be available for call-in a work day via the “paging unit” or communications equipment. The payment for these periods of stand-by will be accorded as follows: Monday to Saturday: three-quarters (3/4) of an hour per day at regular rate Sunday and Statutory Holidays: one (1) paid break of fifteen (15) minutes during the shift hour per day at the site where working. Working Hours. A. Except as otherwise provided for in MOU 12 and this Agreement, the 3/12 Plan requires Senior and Principal Detention Officers to generally be scheduled to work 13 days consisting of 12-hour shifts totaling 156 hours in a twenty-eight (28) day deployment period. For timekeeping purposes, each employee assigned to work a 12-hour shift shall be scheduled for 4 hours of holiday time each DP. The parties hereto are committed 4 hours of holiday time shall be scheduled on the last regularly scheduled day off of the Deployment Period. Senior and Principal Detention Officers will receive 4 hours of holiday time each DP and will not receive any of the holidays specified in Article 5.12 of MOU 12. B. A 4/10 schedule will be available on two mid-watches, deployment permitting, only at the regional jails. Area jails will only be on the 3/12 schedule. Assignment of watches shall be at the discretion of the Commanding Officer of Jail Division. If an insufficient number of qualified volunteers are found within the team, the Employer will ordinarily select qualified volunteers from the overtime sign-up sheets within the buildings, taking into consideration the skills and ability to perform the overtime work. If an insufficient number of qualified volunteers are found from the team’s and buildingsschedules sign-up sheets, the Employer has the right to require overtime work of other employees as provided by the Agreement. An employee who volunteers for and taken somewhere near accepts an overtime assignment, or an employee who is otherwise assigned overtime work, and fails to report for the middle of their shiftsovertime work as scheduled will receive either a sick or tardy attendance incident.
