Work Hours Defined. During the respective work cycle, shift assignments are to be made at the discretion of the Fire Chief within the provisions of this Agreement with respect to shift bidding. Bargaining unit members shall be designated either as Response Shift employees or Day Shift employees.
Work Hours Defined. 1. Exempt ESPs are those defined by the Fair Labor Standards Act. a. No ESP shall work less than the established hours of a position, except as provided in Section II.C, which authorizes specific holidays and other activities within the workweek. b. The workday for each 12-month full-time ESP shall be 8 hours, and the workweek shall be 40 hours during a given 7-day period except as shown in paragraph II.A.2 b. c. Full time ESPs shall be required to be present on their assigned jobs for the total number of hours for which they are being compensated, unless absence from duty is authorized.
