Xxxxxxxxx to Department Head. The Department Head, or the Department Head's designee, shall have seven (7) working days in which to review, and answer the grievance in writing. Unless waived by mutual agreement of the employee or his/her representative and the Department Head or the Department Head's designee, a meeting is required at this level and the employee and his/her representative shall have the right to be present and participate in such a meeting. The time limit at this level may be extended by mutual agreement between the Department Head, or the Department Head's designee, and the employee or his/her representative.
Xxxxxxxxx to Department Head. If the employee and his/her immediate supervisor cannot reach an agreement as to a solution of the grievance, or the aggrieved employee has not received a verbal decision within the aforesaid five (5) working day limit, the aggrieved employee may, within five (5) working days following the termination of the procedure described in Section 8.5(b), present the employee’s grievance in writing, dated and signed, to the employee’s department head, with a copy to Human Resources. The department head will meet with the aggrieved employee, the aggrieved employee's representative, and the aggrieved employee's immediate supervisor at a mutually agreed upon location and time to discuss the grievance. Such meeting will take place within five (5) working days from the date of receipt of the grievance by the department head. Within five (5) working days of said meeting, the department head shall give his or her written decision to the aggrieved employee.
