Liability and limitation. 1. Smoking is strictly prohibited in all areas of the Hotel. In the event of a breach, the Hotel will levy a charge of DKK 1500. The same applies to the interference with smoke alarms or the unauthorized opening of emergency exits. The Hotel reserves the right to assert a higher claim if, for example, the Hotel is billed for a deployment of the fire service or a fire caused by unauthorized smoking has caused damage to Hotel property. 2. If the services of the Hotel are interrupted or defective, the Hotel will seek to rectify the situation immediately on notification by the Guest. If the Guest is at fault for failing to notify the Hotel of a defect, the Guest cannot demand reduction of the contractually agreed payment. 3. The Hotel is liable in accordance with the statutory provisions in relation to death or per-sonal injury as well as for any deceitfully concealed faults etc. 4. Liability on the part of Hotel is excluded for loss, damage or theft of the Guest‘s property except to the extent that (i) the Guest‘s property has been kept in the Hotel‘s safe for safekeeping against a receipt or (ii) the loss, damage or theft has been directly caused by the Hotel‘s gross negligence or (iii) to the extent stored in the room safe, duly locked, in which case losses are insured up to a maximum of the equivalent of EUR 800. The Hotel is for safety reason not obliged to store items of high value (exceeding the equivalent of DKK 6000 and the Guest is obliged to notify the Hotel in advance, if the Guest desires to store such high value items in the Hotel safe.
