Accidental Total Permanent Disability definition

Accidental Total Permanent Disability means disability of the rider life insured as a result of bodily injury caused by an accident (a sudden unforeseen and involuntary event caused by external and visible means) and such injury shall within 180 days of its occurrence solely, directly and independently of any other cause, result in the rider life assureds disability which must be permanent and total, subject to the conditions and exclusions specified in Annexure K, which forms part of this Policy.
Accidental Total Permanent Disability means disability to the Life Insured if he meets with an Accident, and is being subject to one of the following impairments: (i) Total and irrecoverable loss of entire sight in both eyes or (ii) Amputation at or above the wrists or (iii) Amputation at or above the wrist and one foot at or above the ankle. “Loss of sight” above means total, permanent and irreversible loss of all vision in both eyes as a result of accident (as applicable). The diagnosis must be clinically confirmed by an appropriate consultant. The blindness must not be correctable by aides or surgical procedures. The ATPD benefit is subject to the exclusion as given in Annexure K, which forms part of this Policy Document.
Accidental Total Permanent Disability means, disability of the life assured as a result of bodily injury caused by an accident (a sudden unforeseen and involuntary event caused by external and visible means) and such injury shall within 180 days of its occurrence solely, directly and independently of any other cause, result in the life assured/policyholder disability which must be permanent and either total. The list of the covered disability conditions are provided in Section 5(g) below.

Examples of Accidental Total Permanent Disability in a sentence

  • No benefit shall be paid for Accidental Total Permanent Disability if payment of a benefit for Accidental Death has been made.

  • In case of Accidental Death: (Fresh) USD 10,000.- In case of Accidental Total Permanent Disability: (Fresh) USD 10,000.- This is the maximum limit allowed, and the insured is not eligible for more than one contract under this plan.

  • The coverage is terminated once Accidental Death or Accidental Total Permanent Disability Benefits is paid.

  • No benefit shall be paid for Accidental Death if payment of a benefit for Accidental Total Permanent Disability has been made.
