Dependent Care Expense definition

Dependent Care Expense means employment-related expenses incurred on behalf of a person who meets the requirements to be a “qualifying individual,” as defined in the first bulleted item below. All of the following conditions must be met for such expenses to qualify as dependent care expenses that are eligible for reimbursement:
Dependent Care Expense means an employment-related expense necessary for gainful employment of the Participant under the standards established in Section 21(b) of the Code.
Dependent Care Expense means the Participant’s payment or provision of services considered employment-related expenses under Section 129 of the Code. This section relates to expenses for household and dependent care services necessary for gainful employment.

  • Such contributions shall be made by the Employer when benefit payments and account administration expenses become due and payable under this Dependent Care Expense Reimbursement Plan.


More Definitions of Dependent Care Expense

Dependent Care Expense means amounts paid or incurred by you for “household services” or for the care of a Dependent, either inside or outside of your home, subject to the limitations in Section 5.5, in order to enable you to be gainfully employed for any period for which you have one or more Dependents. In the case of dependent care provided outside of your home, where the person or facility providing the care cares for more than six individuals, expenses will be considered Dependent Care Expenses only if the person or facility complies with all applicable state and local laws and the benefits are provided (1) for the care of your Dependent child under the age of 13 or (2) any other Dependent who regularly spends at least eight hours each day in your household.
Dependent Care Expense means an expense incurred by a Participant which is an employment-related expense as defined for purposes of Section 21(b) of the Code.
Dependent Care Expense means an expense incurred by the Participant for dependent care as provided under IRC Section 129. Only expenses incurred while the Employee is a Participant for such Plan Year are recognized. Art. IV, 4.01(b)
Dependent Care Expense means an expense incurred by a Participant which: (a) is incurred for the care of a Participant's Dependent to enable the Participant to be gainfully employed; and (b) is paid or payable to a Dependent Care Service Provider. The term "Dependent Care Expense" shall not include an expense incurred for services outside the Participant's household for the care of a Dependent unless such Dependent: (i) is under the age of 13; or (ii) regularly spends at least eight hours each day in the Participant's household.

Related to Dependent Care Expense

  • Health care expenses means, for purposes of Section 14, expenses of health maintenance organizations associated with the delivery of health care services, which expenses are analogous to incurred losses of insurers.

  • Medical Expense means an expense incurred at the time a past member or his or her health reimbursement account dependent is furnished the medical care or service. To be considered a medical expense under this act, the expense shall meet all of the following conditions:

  • Dependent child means a child residing in an individual’s household who may legally be claimed as a dependent on the federal income tax of such individual.

  • Dependent care assistance program means a benefit plan

  • Medicare eligible expenses means expenses of the kinds covered by Medicare Parts A and B, to the extent recognized as reasonable and medically necessary by Medicare.

  • Medical Expenses means those expenses that an Insured Person has necessarily and actually incurred for medical treatment on account of Illness or Accident on the advice of a Medical Practitioner, as long as these are no more than would have been payable if the Insured Person had not been insured and no more than other hospitals or doctors in the same locality would have charged for the same medical treatment.

  • Dependent adult means a person 18 years of age or older who is unable to protect the person’s own interests or unable to adequately perform or obtain services necessary to meet essential human needs, as a result of a physical or mental condition which requires assistance from another.

  • Routine patient care costs means Covered Medical Expenses which are typically provided absent a clinical trial and not otherwise excluded under the Policy. Routine patient care costs do not include:

  • Covered Expense means expense incurred only for the following:

  • Nonminor dependent means any individual age eighteen to twenty-one years who is participating in extended foster care services authorized under RCW 74.13.031.

  • Dependent student means one who is listed as a dependent on the federal or state income tax return

  • Dependent children also means natural children, stepchildren, adopted children, children of a domestic partner, children placed for adoption and foster children.

  • Travel Expenses means any costs incurred by Licensor associated with the transportation, storage or lodging of equipment, supplies, Licensor employees and other items necessary for business use from Licensor headquarters to Licensee’s facilities. Travel expenses may include, but are not limited to airfare, hotel costs, and meals if applicable. Any travel expenses paid by the Licensee shall be paid at allowable government travel rates consistent with Management Directive 230.10, unless otherwise first approved by the Licensee’s authorized representative.

  • Covered Expenses means expenses actually incurred by or on behalf of a Covered Person for treatment, services and supplies covered by the Policy. Coverage under the Participating Organization’s Policy must remain continuously in force from the date of the Covered Accident or Sickness until the date treatment, services or supplies are received for them to be a Covered Expense. A Covered Expense is deemed to be incurred on the date such treatment, service or supply, that gave rise to the expense or the charge, was rendered or obtained.

  • Dependents means dependents as defined in the Internal Revenue Code and as claimed in the taxpayer's federal income tax return for the taxable year or which the taxpayer would have been permitted to claim had the taxpayer filed a federal income tax return.

  • Program Expenses means all UHC’s expenses of administering the Program under the Indenture and the Act and shall include without limiting the generality of the foregoing; salaries, supplies, utilities, labor, materials, office rent, maintenance, furnishings, equipment, machinery and apparatus, including information processing equipment; software, insurance premiums, credit enhancement fees, legal, accounting, management, consulting and banking services and expenses; Fiduciary Expenses; remarketing fees; Costs of Issuance not paid from proceeds of Bonds; and payments to pension, retirement, health and hospitalization funds; and any other expenses required or permitted to be paid by UHC.

  • Inpatient care means treatment for which the insured person has to stay in a hospital for more than 24 hours for a covered event.

  • Functionally dependent use means a use which cannot perform its intended purpose unless it is located or carried out in close proximity to water. The term includes only docking facilities, port facilities that are necessary for the loading and unloading of cargo or passengers, and ship building and ship repair facilities, but does not include long-term storage or related manufacturing facilities.

  • Covered Services means all or a part of those medical and health services set forth in rule 441—86.14(514I).
