Guard means a protective barrier installed around openings in floor areas or on the open sides of a stairway, a landing, a balcony, a mezzanine, a gallery, a raised walkway, and other locations as required to prevent accidental falls from one level to another. Such barriers may or may not have openings through them.
Auctioneer means the holder of an auction floor licence issued in terms of the Tobacco Marketing and Levy Act;
Alarm means to cause fear of danger of physical harm; and
Landscaping means the treatment of land (other than buildings) being the site or part of the site in respect of which this planning permission is granted, for the purpose of enhancing or protecting the amenities of the site and the area in which it is situated and includes screening by fences, walls or other means of enclosure; measures to screen the refuse provision; planting of trees, hedges, shrubs or grass; formation of banks, terraces or other earth works, laying out of gardens, paved areas or courts and other amenity features.
Paraprofessional means a person who does not have an academic degree related to the scope of treatment or support services being provided but performs prescribed functions under the general supervision of that discipline.
outworker means a person to whom articles or materials are given out to be made up, cleaned, washed, altered, ornamented, finished or repaired, or adapted for sale in his own home or on other premises not under the control or management of the person who gave out the materials or articles;
Ombudsperson means the Ombudsperson of British Columbia;
hoarding means a fence or similar structure used to enclose a property or part thereof which is or intended to be under development, site alteration, or maintenance.
Landscape means an area, as perceived by people, whose character is the result of the action and interaction of natural and/or human factors;
Retrenchment means the termination by the employer of the service of a worker for any reason whatsoever, otherwise than as a punishment inflicted by way of disciplinary action, but does not include—
Evacuation means the authorized or ordered departure from post of an employee or dependent(s), or any of the circumstances outlined in Section 610j herein. The terms "evacuated" and "ordered/authorized to depart" are used interchangeably in these regulations.
Physical Safeguards are physical measures, policies, and procedures to protect CONTRACTOR’s electronic information systems and related buildings and equipment, from natural and environmental hazards, and unauthorized intrusion.
Landscape waste means any vegetable or plant waste except garbage. The term includes trees, tree trimmings, branches, stumps, brush, weeds, leaves, grass, shrubbery, and yard trimmings.
Technical safeguards means the technology and the policy and procedures for its use that 27 protect electronic PHI and control access to it.
Vandalism means the willful and malicious acts of any person that result in the destruction, defacement, or damage of any property, real or personal, belonging to or entrusted to the Board of Education. Vandalism includes arson and acts of graffiti.
Artifacts means natural or artificial articles, objects, implements, or other items of archaeological interest.
Security Vulnerability means a flaw or weakness in system security procedures, design, implementation, or internal controls that could be exercised (accidentally triggered or intentionally exploited) and result in a security breach such that data is compromised, manipulated or stolen or the system damaged.
Firewall means a device for the detection, obstruction, destruction and/or prevention (as applicable) of computer viruses, Trojans, worms, unauthorised access or use and/or any similar act or thing which may affect a computer system, or network.
Smoke means the gases, particles, or vapors released into the air as a result of combustion, electrical ignition or vaporization, when the apparent or usual purpose of the combustion, electrical ignition or vaporization is human inhalation of the byproducts, except when the combusting or vaporizing of materials contains no tobacco or nicotine and the purpose of the inhalation is solely olfactory, such as, for example, smoke from incense. The term "smoke" includes, but is not limited to, tobacco smoke, electronic cigarette vapors, and cannabis smoke.
Technological safeguards means the technology and the policy and procedures for use of the technology to protect and control access to personal information.
Landscape architect means a person who holds a license to practice landscape architecture in the state of California Business and Professions Code, Section 5615.
Artifact means a substance or structure not naturally present in living tissue but of which an authentic image appears in a radiograph.
Paraplegia means the permanent Paralysis and functional loss of use of both lower limbs.
Badge means an officer's department issued
Agency Worker means the individual who is Introduced by the Employment Business to provide services to the Hirer;
Trash means solids not considered to be highly flammable or explosive including, but not limited to clothing, rags, leather, plastic, rubber, floor coverings, excelsior, tree leaves, yard trimmings and other similar materials.
