Index Event definition

Index Event means, in respect of a Reference Unit, (i) the sponsor for the index that is replicated by the Reference Fund (the “ETF Reference Index”) announces that it will make a material change in the formula for or the method of calculating the ETF Reference Index or in any other way materially modifies the ETF Reference Index (other than a modification prescribed in that formula or method to maintain the ETF Reference Index in the event of changes to the constituents and other routine events) or permanently cancels the ETF Reference Index and no successor index exists, or (ii) the sponsor for the ETF Reference Index fails to determine and announce the official closing level or value of the ETF Reference Index, and, in either case, the Calculation Agent determines that such event has a material effect on the calculation of the Maturity Redemption Payment or any other payment under the particular Deposits linked to the Reference Units of the Reference Fund.
Index Event means (i) if the Index Figure for three consecutive months falls to be determined on the basis of an Index Figure previously published as provided in Condition 7(c)(ii) (Delay in publication of Index) and the Bond Trustee has been notified by the Principal Paying Agent that publication of the Index has ceased or (ii) notice is published by Her Majesty’s Treasury, or on its behalf, following a change in relation to the Index, offering a right of redemption to the holders of the Reference Gilt, and (in either case) no amendment or substitution of the Index has been advised by the Indexation Adviser to the Issuer and such circumstances are continuing.
Index Event means any event defined as an Index Event in Section D. - I. General Extraordinary Adjustmentsof this Index Description.

Examples of Index Event in a sentence

  • Upon the determination by the Calculation Agent that an Index Event (as defined herein) has occurred, the Redemption Amount payable on the Maturity Date will be limited to the Calculation Amount.

  • Following the occurrence of such an Index Event, an Index Event Amount (if any) will be payable to Securityholders.

  • The Calculation Agent has broad discretion to make certain determinations and adjustments and/or to determine that an Index Event (as defined herein) has occurred, any of which may have an adverse affect on the Securities.

  • Upon the occurrence of any Index Event (as defined below), the Relevant Issuer may, upon giving not less than 30 nor more than 60 days’ notice to the Note Trustee and the holders of the Indexed Notes in accordance with Condition 18 (Notices), redeem all (but not some only) of the Indexed Notes of all Tranches on any Interest Payment Date at the Principal Amount Outstanding (adjusted in accordance with Condition 7(a) (Application of the Index Ratio)) plus accrued but unpaid interest.

  • Unless the Notes fall due for redemption early for any reason, or an Index Event occurs (as described in paragraph (I) below) no amount shall be payable to Securityholders in respect of the Notes on any date other than the Maturity Date when each nominal amount of Securities equal to the Calculation Amount shall be redeemed at the Redemption Amount.


More Definitions of Index Event

Index Event means the occurrence of either an Index Adjustment Option or an Additional Disruption Option.”Index Event Amount” means an amount in EUR equal to the gain (if any) by the Issuer (expressed as a positive amount), that would be realised, in replacing or in providing for the Issuer the economic equivalent of the material terms of the Index Event Hedging Agreement, including the payments and deliveries by the parties under the Index Event Hedging Agreement that would, but for the occurrence of the relevant Index Event, have been required on or after the date that the Index Event Hedging Agreement is deemed to have been terminated or cancelled (assuming satisfaction of any applicable conditions precedent of the Index Event Hedging Agreement), as determined by the Calculation Agent in its reasonable commercial discretion. If the relevant Index Event is an Index Disruption, then the Index Event Hedging Agreement will be valued by the Calculation Agent using the formula or method to calculate the Index in effect immediately prior to such Index Disruption.
Index Event means (i) on or prior to the Final Valuation Date, the sponsor for the Index announces that it will make a material change in the formula for or the method of calculating the Index or in any other way materially modifies the Index (other than a modification prescribed in that formula or method to maintain the Index in the event of changes to the constituent securities and other routine events) or permanently cancels the Index and no successor index exists, or (ii) on the Final Valuation Date, the sponsor for the Index fails to determine and announce the official closing level or value of the Index, and, in either case, the Calculation Agent determines that such event has had a material effect on the calculation of the Variable Return.
Index Event means the event which occurs if any of the following occur (i) the relevant Index Figure for three consecutive months falls to be determined on the basis of an Index Figure previously published as provided in Condition 19.8(b) (Delay in publication of Index), or (ii) the Trustee has been notified by the Issuer (or the Agent) that publication of the relevant Index has ceased, and (in each case) no adjustment or substitution of the Index has been determined by the Indexation Adviser pursuant to Condition 19.10 (Cessation of or Fundamental Changes to the Index) and such circumstances are continuing. Market Disruption Event If the Calculation Agent determines that a Market Disruption Event in respect of a Reference Unit has occurred and is continuing on the applicable Valuation Date, then the price or value of such Reference Unit will be calculated on the basis that the Valuation Date will be postponed for the purpose of such affected Reference Unit only (and not other Reference Units or other securities, assets and/or reference items that may be included in the Underlying) to the next business day on which there is no Market Disruption Event with respect to such Reference Unit. However, there will be a limit for postponement of the Valuation Date. If on the eighth business day following the date originally scheduled as the Valuation Date, the Valuation Date has not occurred, then despite the occurrence or continuance of a Market Disruption Event in respect of such Reference Unit on or after such business day: (a) such eighth business day shall be the Valuation Date in respect of the Reference Unit; and (b) the price or value of the Reference Units used for determining the return of the Reference Units, the Maturity Consideration or other payment based on the price or value of such Reference Unit will be a price or value equal to the Calculation Agent’s estimate of the price or value of the Reference Unit as at such Valuation Date, reasonably taking into account relevant market circumstances and subject to confirmation by a Calculation Expert as provided under “Description of the Notes – Calculation Expert”. Index Event means the VWAP for any five (5) consecutive trading day period of the Dow Jxxxx US Hospitality REIT Index (DJUSHL) is at least thirty percent (30%) lower than the VWAP of the DJUSHL for the sixty (60) consecutive trading day period immediately preceding the first day of such five (5) consecutive trading day period.
Index Event means the occurrence of an Index Adjustment Event, a Hedging Disruption Event or a Company Disruption Event, as determined by the Calculation Agent in its sole discretion.
